Our Nurse Practitioners Jen and Diana Diaz are now offering an innovative non-invasive treatment – Kybella® – to melt away your double chin. If you’re interested in getting Kybella® in Chicago to achieve effective submental fullness reduction, consider a visit to Enfuse Medical Spa.

What is submental fullness?

The submental area is the medical term for the region below the chin. Submental fullness, more commonly referred to as a double chin, can detract from an otherwise balanced facial appearance, as it can make you look older or heavier. In this era of selfies and facetime, many people are much more conscious of the appearance of a double chin.

While submental liposuction for fat under the chin and along the upper portion of the neck can improve your appearance, it is also quite invasive. Many people are interested in double-chin reduction but would rather not undergo surgery to achieve it. Kybella® is a less-invasive alternative that is growing more and more popular by the day.

Kybella Before & After Results

What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is a nonsurgical injection technique to reduce fullness under the chin, giving you the sculpted definition you’ve always wanted. The key ingredient in Kybella® is a substance known as deoxycholic acid. This substance is found naturally in the human body, where it aids in processing dietary fats.

When Kybella® is injected into the submental region, the deoxycholic acid destroys the stubborn fat cells. The body then uses a natural process to gradually filter out these destroyed fat cells, resulting in effective volume reduction.

Am I a good candidate for injectable double-chin reduction?

Ideal candidates for Kybella® injections have submental fullness and would like to avoid more invasive chin-reduction options. Good candidates also have realistic expectations in terms of results. To help establish these, it is helpful to view our Kybella® before and after photos.

Patients with an active infection in the submental region should avoid Kybella® use until the infection has been fully treated. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, immunocompromised patients, patients under 18 years of age, and patients with thyroid abnormalities are not ideal candidates for this treatment.
