The Candela IPL CoolGlide® laser is a noninvasive light therapy device used for vein therapy in Chicago, along with treatment of skin tags. This safe, fast, gentle, and effective method was specifically designed to eliminate undesired blood vessels from all parts of the body.
The Candela IPL CoolGlide® laser generates a pulse of intense concentrated light directed through a small cooled handpiece, which is gently applied to the treatment site. In just a few treatment sessions (in some cases only a single treatment session) using the gentle power of lasers, you can greatly improve the appearance of skin affected by unwanted blood vessels and broken capillaries.
At Enfuse Medical Spa & Hair Restoration, we offer a number of laser skin treatments, including vein therapy, Candela Laser Genesis, and Fractional laser resurfacing.
Customized and Precise Vein Therapy
The Candela IPL CoolGlide® laser can be used just about anywhere on the body and usually requires no anesthesia or other treatment. Even sensitive areas such as the nose and cheeks can be treated easily and with minimal discomfort.
The system’s unique design allows us to customize vein therapy treatment according to the size and color of your unwanted blood vessels, your skin color, and the blood vessels’ location on the body.
How Does Vein Therapy Work?
This laser energy passes through the skin to the blood vessels which you wish to have eliminated, where the energy is absorbed by pigment in the blood, causing selective damage to the lining of the target blood vessel without damaging the surrounding tissues and skin.
The deeply penetrating long wavelength of the Candela IPL CoolGlide® allows us to target blood vessels which other, shorter wavelength lasers cannot safely reach. The laser is pulsed, or “turned on”, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of the pulses is carefully determined so that laser energy will be absorbed by the blood vessels without transferring excessive heat to the surrounding skin.
The blood vessels which have been destroyed are reabsorbed by the body, and the flow of blood is directed back down into the deeper vessels, where it belongs.
The surface of the skin is protected by cooling gel pads applied immediately before and after treatment and by a gold-plated cooling head, which glides over the skin (CoolGlide®) half a second before the laser beam. This selectivity helps to protect the skin while effectively treating the unwanted vessels.
What Can Vein Therapy Treat?
Broken Capillaries: Minimize broken capillaries and facial veins with this quick and efficient laser treatment.
Spider & Reticular Veins: Red and blue veins can be treated with the Candela IPL 1064 Yag Laser ranging from 3mm – 7mm on the face, legs, and body. This form of spider vein treatment is quite effective.
Cherry Angiomas: Remove this often reoccurring common skin growth with a simple laser session regardless of size or quantity.
Skin Tags: Using the Q-Switched laser, easily remove skin tags of any size and color.
Nd:YAG 1064 is designed to treat benign vascular lesions such as facial diffuse redness, leg veins, venous lakes, port wine stains, clear nails, and warts. Its patented, integrated SoftCool technology enables treatment without the constriction of underlying vessels, which can occur with contact cooling.
Laser Vein Therapy Aftercare
Following vein therapy, there is no need for recovery time or downtime. Temporary redness is normal and will fade in time. It is best to avoid physically taxing activities for a few days after the treatment session. Avoid sun exposure whenever, and make sure to apply sunscreen to the treatment area, since the skin will temporarily be more prone to sun damage.
How Much Does Laser Vein Therapy Cost?
The cost of vein therapy or skin tag removal varies from patient to patient. Exact price is based on the number of veins or skin tags treated and the number of sessions needed to achieve the patient’s goals.
